What is the history of Halloween?

Answered By Hanson Landgren, Editor

Historically speaking, Halloween is associated to folk holidays like the Celtic Festival that are celebrated by the Roman people before. The celebration coincides with The Day of the Dead in Mexico. During the 10th century, the Roman Catholic Church made it an official celebration and it falls on November 1. However, several countries in Western Europe are celebrating Halloween on the evening of October 31st.
